my favorite is the kwik-e-mart conversions, where they took twelve 7-11’s and converted them into kwik-e-marts. canada got one and wouldn’t you know…it ended up in coquitlam. now being a fairly adept geek “internet researcher”, i found out about it quick early on and made the trek out to coquitlam the day before the conversion…doh! i have yet to make it back.

my next favorite is the avatar generator on the simpsons movie site. here you can create yourself as a simpsons character kinda like creating yourself as a Mii on the nintendo wii.

then there’s the simpsonize site where you can upload a photo of yourself and it’ll turn you into a simpsons character. i’ve yet to get it to work due to the heavy traffic.

then there’s the simpsons collabo’s with numerous greedy corporations innovative manufacturers which are too numerous to name here.

anyhoo…nice job simpsons marketing team! and don’t worry i’ll be going to see the movie.

oh and i absolutely LOVE the movie trailer where ralph wiggum is singing along to the 20th century fox song.

and my $.02… the final leg should not be decided by the quality of the taxi driver. the final pitstop and at least a detour and roadblock should all be within walking distince of each other so that the team’s efforts decided who wins, not the transportation method.

then a much anticipated DVD dropped this week as well. planet earth which has some of the most amazing imagery i’ve seen in a while. crazy time lapse and super duper slow-mo shots. i don’t usually watch nature shows but this one has been keeping me entertained (monkeys are funny). so anyways, shopping at costco (whose return policy rocks by the way) and there it was staring me in the face so i had to buy it.

then there’s the sorry excuse for a green initiative the canadian government announced this week.

and then i saw a picture of aston martin’s new racing team in…green.

then i was given a pair of shoes that i’ve been searching for. the adidas mark gonzales superskates in blue/yellow. blue and yellow combined make…green

its all going green…

the producers knew what time people were expected into warsaw cause every team had the option of taking the pre-booked flight. so worst case scenario, teams arrive at 11:25AM, do their shit and are finished by that afternoon/evening. next leg they’ve obviously chartered private buses to Auschwitz so why 1:00pm the following day? why not 6:00AM, 9:00AM?!?! shit, why not let the teams get to Auschwitz themselves?

so its a pretty safe bet to say that they adjusted the schedule to accommodate the late racers in order to:
a) heighten the sense of “tension” or competitiveness
b) reduce the logistics expense of multiple production support teams scattered farther apart
c) get more dramatic shots of Auschwitz by shooting at night and backlighting the windows like some haunted house.

nice way to crush any sense of “reality” in your “reality tv” CBS…
