So here i am killing time at the airport in Phoenix. Why? Well we were supposed to have left an hour ago on our connecting flight to Cabo. However, there seems to be a small hurricane raging there so our flight is delayed. Unknown as to how long but lets just say it doesn’t inspire a whole lot of confidence for this trip.

We’re killing time by making up fake messages on the public message announce board. Maybe i’ll go find some Gravol as a pre-emptive strike.

wired magazine has a nice little story about the new rail line being built linking china and tibet. the new rail line is now the highest train in the world at some 16000 ft about sea level. the article itself is a mix of adventure travel writing and technology reporting.

having taken a high altitude train through the peruvian andes i can just imagine what this one would be like. something oddly attractive about such a remote and desolate place too. tibet is on my list of places to visit, so one day…

well my friend eddie has been hanging out down on the south island in NZ for the summer and just sent this lovely picture that makes me very jealous. he has this to report:

it snowed and they closed the crown range so i couldnt get to work. turned my car around, drove to coronet peak and did a slash instead. fun.
