my parents live on the 22nd floor of an apartment building. apparently some pigeons decided that my mother’s balcony and her many plants would make a good place to lay their eggs. my mom was not happy at first but after the eggs hatched she was pretty excited.
the little guys aren’t nearly as cute as you would expect them to be. mostly because of their lack of feathers.
now the big question is where are they going to learn how to fly? 22 stories is a big first step!

if you’ve been following the news at all you’ve likely heard about the US economy and its meltdown and the impending fear of rising inflation. we’re at 2% or so and headed towards 4% or something like that. think that’s bad? how about poor old zimbabwe. their inflation rate? 2 200 000% yup you read that right 2.2 million percent. obviously if you grocery shopping, $100 bills aren’t going to get you very far so the government has just introduced the hundred billion dollar note. that’s $100 000 000 000. that’s a lot of zeroes but it’ll only get you a couple of oranges. suddenly mr. burn’s trillion dollar bill makes a lot of sense.

i went out for dimsum with my parents this morning in the suburbs and saw something that made me throw up a little in my mouth. now normally i have a pretty good tolerance for disgusting things but this one was just to much. yet there it was sitting innocently out in the open on the somebody’s table…
a bejewelled iphone.
the top right corner and bottom left corner of the screen were adorned with about 10 little jewels in a triangle shape. you could see little bits of crusty face munge and old makeup stuck in the ridges. still gives me the shivers…
i wish i could have taken a picture of it but in retrospect its probably a good thing. i don’t want to ever think about it again.
