wii rocks

wii rocks

had a chance to spend several hours of Wii Sports this past weekend. verdict…hella fun. the graphics are nothing to write home about but just the mechanics of the gameplay were sooo fun. i’ve never been a big fan of game like Halo or other first person shooters so to play something like this was great. now i just need to round up some cash and track one down.

some dope graphic design/art guys. they do tees too. thank god for a break from all the same old crap you find in streetwear these days.

what a waste

what a waste

we finally got rid of our christmas tree this past weekend. it was pretty sad. after all that work to chop him down and then to keep him healthy, he’s off to get chopped up somewhere despite being in great shape. even after over a month our tree was still fragrant, the needles were still springy and hardly any ever fell off, yet it was time.

there should be xmas tree rentals or nurseries. you pick a tree when its still young (big enough to be a small tree but not a full xmas tree) and every year the nursery digs him up and pots him. you take him home, decorate and take care of him then after new years you take him back to the nursery, replant him and they tend to him for another ten months until you repeat the process again. once he gets to big, he gets replanted back into the forest.

good idea no? i should patent it.

iron army

iron army

i’ve been investigating these guys for a while now and i think i want a pair. two guys from alberta that started their own denim line and found enough success to move down to LA and try to make it big. i first found out about them due to their 777 project.

the thing i like about their denim is the contrast stitching that follows all the seam lines like a drunken sweat shop seamstress. not sure about the fit though which is what will make or break it for me. i just found out that the g-star core sec jeans i just got have a 12 inch opening! i knew they were narrow but that’s crazy! apparently dutil is an authorized iron army retailer so i’ll have to wander down there eventually to check it out.

i’ve also finally found a pair of prps that i like and i’m curious to try on some crate denims too. man, i need second income just to dress myself.

The Queen

The Queen

i saw the trailer for this a while ago and usually i see a trailer and make a mental note to see it but usually my old age kicks in and i forget. somehow this one stuck and i’m glad it did.

i kinda expected it to be all dry and boring but it was actually quite poignant and even funny at times. it was really great how they intercut historical footage of all the news reporting around diana’s death into the movie. it really added a sense of authenticity and timeliness to the story which was basically an insiders view of what went on with the royals after the news of diana’s death broke.

i thoroughly enjoyed how they portrayed Charles as a little scaredy-cat and Helen Mirren was very believable as the queen. there were all kinds of little things that i never thought about the royals doing (the queen driving herself) or having to do (plan their own funeral).

if you get a chance, watch it.

time flies

has it really been a week since my last post? sheesh. i’m a slacker. i guess it has been pretty busy around here. i’ve started incorporating on-snow testing into my line presentations which makes for a very long day. by the time i get home i’m pooped and pretty much pass out on the couch.

its been fun though. getting a few hours of riding in the morning up at Seymour. its good to see how much everybody brightens up from even a few runs even in less than ideal conditions. our fri morning mission got cut short due to the rescue operations going on for that snowshoer. the SAR crew were buzzing up and down under Mystery chair with their sleds so Seymour didn’t want to risk any collisions. did a couple laps under the Lodge chair where a few school groups were rocking out. talk about dedication. kids in jeans, no beanies, sunglasses instead of goggles. some kids didn’t even have gloves. didn’t faze them one bit they were having a blast. kinda puts things into perspective (aka, i’m a whiny bitch)

been kinda half-heartedly searching for a Wii. i can’t really afford it but it would be kind of fun to have.

i finally got those Urich dunks. oddly they fit bigger. every pair of nikes i own fits differently. you would think that a company as big as them can afford to develop a standardized fit. again…i’m a whiny bitch.

noodle box disappointed me twice now. their singapore cashew curry was bland. and then today the spring rolls were too salty and they lost my satay order. grrr…i’m a whiny bitch.

well now that we’ve got that straight….

holy crap!

holy crap!

been watching the season premiere of season 6 of 24. it just keeps getting better. i figured the concept was tapped out but somehow it just keeps getting more intense. yes, they’re taking a little more liberty with the concept (eg. terrorist getting across LA and changing clothes in 10 minutes…yeah right) but once you ignore those inconsistencies its pretty insane. like what other tv series detonates a nuclear bomb in LA?!?!?! i need the next episode stat!

uh oh

This doesn’t bode well for my industry…
