you’ve got fifteen minutes to defuse a suitcase bomb. are you game?

a collection of run on sentences mostly about travel, fashion, technology, formula 1, design and anything else that this worker bee in the vancouver ad industry feels like rambling on about
so in browsing the georgia straight last friday, i found out that L2 carries Rare. and they have those jeans in my size. but guess what?!?! $410!!! $80 more than Basquiat. WTF?!?! total scammers. little bitches. i can’t bring myself to support a shop like that.
no…i’m not dying…i mean there’s light at the end of the tunnel in that i’m almost done my bathroom. last coat of paint goes on tomorrow morning and then i’m done.
well almost. i still have to:
-install the light housings
-change the switches
-install cover plates
-silicone the drywall/tile edges
-install the temporary cabinet
-install the sink
-source and install the custom mirror
-source and install a custom cabinet
-extend the tile over the shower curb
-source and install the shower glass
hmmm….ok, maybe the end of the tunnel is a little farther off. dammit.
the crew at highsnobiety.com got the lowdown on a brand out of Paris called Artsym. finally streetwear that is real cut & sew not just a beefy-t with some multi-brand-collabo-all-over-print. so loving the hoodie pictured but unfortunately can’t seem to find it at their online store (crews only left) and they don’t seem to have any distribution outside of france.
oh why oh why am i cursed to always want what i can’t find?!?!
kinda like taste of vancouver but limited to yaletown. doesn’t the name just say it all?
runs 10.13 to 10.29. early registration for amex cardholders starts 9.26, with the general public set for 9.29. menus are $25, $35 or $45. coast anyone?
supertouch has a nice little interview with shepard fairey of obey/giant fame. but more importantly, it previews some of his work for his new “rise above” collection. i’ve always loved his style.
the new season kicked off this past sunday. gotta say ol phil is looking a little “botox-y”. tsk tsk. the teams seem kinda interesting. love the slack-jawed-yokels team. nice change of pace.
off the start i was hoping somebody would slip on the wet grass in seattle but alas, everybody was too surefooted. nice to get them off to a foreign country right away. but china and the damn great wall again. i think the show has gone there every other season.
i’m a little disappointed that the cheerleaders didn’t pick up the dance routine a little quicker. they are cheerleaders after all but i guess they were up against gay dudes.
the chick with the prosthetic leg. lame. the chinese meatheads? please. “i can feel my forearms burn” gag. where’s the slap on the butt.
my prediction? too early to predict right now, although i’m rooting for the cheerleaders cause they’re good looking and they’re seem smarter than the beauty pageant girls.
doing a little shopping the other day and ended up at Basquiat in yaletown. last time i was there i found the dopest pair of lindeberg pants. of course it was the last pair and wasn’t my size. been looking everywhere, including online, ever since and…nothing.
this time i found the dopest pair of denims by a brand called “RARE”. leather trims, antique tarnished copper buttons, resin baking, selvedge. just super dope. of course, last pair, not my size. initial internet research turns up…nothing. goddammit…help!!!!
i think for my own sanity, i’m never shopping there again.
uhhh…yeah…HDTV is just barely getting started and this is already out? crap. i better start saving now.
